How long has Upa-Netra Foundation been operating, and what impact has it made?
Founded in March 2015 in Dadri, UP, we have been operating for over 10 years. In that time we have impacted 10 Lakh+ lives, conducted 30,000+ cataract surgeries with a 98.8% clinical success rate, distributed 75,000+ pairs of glasses, and held 900+ eye camps across NCR, UP, and surrounding regions. Every figure is third-party audited and available on request.
Where does Upa-Netra Foundation primarily focus its efforts?
Our primary focus is the NCR and Uttar Pradesh region, reaching 240+ villages, 150+ schools, 80+ industrial zones, 300+ highway transit hubs, and 65+ urban slum clusters. We are expanding to additional states as our surgical capacity and team grow toward the Vision 2030 target.
Can I choose a specific program to support with my donation?
Yes. When donating you can designate your contribution to a specific program — School Eye Screening, Rural Mobile Camps, Laborers Vision, Nigahe Safar, Apna Optical, or Urban Slum clinics. Contact us at hello@upanetrafoundation.org or mention your preference in the donation notes. All designated funds are tracked and reported separately.
What updates will I receive after donating?
All donors receive quarterly impact reports with camp logs, surgery counts, and field photographs. Donors giving ₹10,000 or more receive personalised impact certificates and direct updates from our field coordinator. Major donors (₹50,000+) may visit active camps as guests if they wish.
Are there tax benefits for NRI donors?
NRI donors can contribute via wire transfer (SWIFT), PayPal, or international payment gateways. 80G tax benefits apply to Indian taxpayers only — NRIs should consult their country's tax advisor for deduction eligibility. All NRI donations are fully accepted and acknowledged with receipts. Please email hello@upanetrafoundation.org for SWIFT details.
What does "87% goes directly to patient care" mean exactly?
Of every rupee received, 87 paise goes to direct field operations — surgical costs, glasses procurement, medicines, camp transport, and optometrist fees. 13 paise goes to organisational overhead — coordination, auditing, communications, and compliance. This ratio is audited annually by an independent CA firm and published in our annual report.
Can I donate in a currency other than Indian Rupees?
Yes. We accept international donations via wire transfer (SWIFT), PayPal, and select international payment gateways. All amounts are converted at the prevailing interbank rate and fully acknowledged with receipts. Email us for bank details: hello@upanetrafoundation.org.
How do I volunteer with Upa-Netra Foundation?
We welcome volunteers in several roles — camp coordination, patient registration, data entry, photography, community outreach, and medical support (for healthcare professionals). Volunteers commit to at least one camp day per month. Contact us at hello@upanetrafoundation.org with your availability, location, and skills.
